If you have some pallets lying around your house, do not throw them away instead think of making something creative out of it for your home. Creativity is the actual key for the pallets because there are so many things which you can make just out of the slabs of pallet itself which you can find anywhere for free of cost. It just consumes a bit of your time and energy over the weekend and you will be done with a great piece of furniture which you will love at the end of the day.
Everyone loves to decorate their home and when it comes to decorate your house, there are a lot of things which come out of the house to be set in the showcase but what if your showcase if full? Then I guess the best thing would be floating shelves. These shelves look awesome in your house and give a western look as well. I have seen that in western houses, these shelves are very much in trend which makes the house look beautiful and classy. You can place anything on the pallet floating shelves such as frames, books, paintings and much more. The best about the DIY floating shelves is that it is out of reach of the children so you do not also have to worry much about if it will fall down or break because it is attached high on the wall. Just some easy steps to be followed and you will be done with the floating shelves in no time.
The things you would need are the keyhole hangers, screws and a hammer. And if you want to paint the shelves then get any desired paint color and coat it after you are done with it.
Drill holes where you want to attach the keyhole hangers.
Then attach the keyhole hangers with the screws by drilling them so that you can hang the shelves on the wall.
Mark the wall with a pencil where you want the shelves to be attached and drill the hole on the wall as well.
Now hammer the nails through the hole so that the wall can hold the shelves and you are done.
It is not necessary to add any pinewood or plywood for the pallet floating shelves but it can be very less in width and still be a shelf to put frames on it or to hang anything on them. It would not cost you much or I guess if you have to buy the screws and keyhole hangers they would cost you less than $5 which is nothing.
It is a great way to utilize the pallets by creativity. I got this idea from the internet and I am sure you can find ways to utilize the things which are here and there in your house uselessly. I love the floating shelves in my house which are over each other in a pattern and colorful. I would recommend you to try it out yourself and you would love it for sure too.
